其中，有一只來自中國神話故事的神獸騶吾（zōu wú）更是大放異彩。
最近電影官方曝光了「騶吾現世」正片片段及海報，海報展現了騶吾與紐特並肩作戰的霸氣場景。
It is a monstrously large feline beast, as big as an elephant, with a striped body, scraggly mane, four fangs that curl out of its mouth, long sharp claws, and a disproportionately long, ruffled multicoloured tail.
它是一只可怕的巨型貓科野獸，有大象那麼碩大；身上長著條紋，鬃毛蓬亂；四顆獠牙翹出嘴邊，爪子鋒利纖長，還有一條不成比例炸毛的五彩長尾巴。

據《山海經·海內北經》記載，騶吾是一種仁獸，原文是：「林氏國，有珍獸，大若虎，五采畢具，尾長於身，名曰騶吾，乘之日行千里」，「非自死之獸不食」。

簡單來說就是有種名叫騶吾的珍奇野獸，它身形如猛虎，有著五彩花紋，尾巴比身體還長，騎上它能日行千里。雖然它長得兇猛，卻不吃活的動物。

在電影中，騶吾被囚禁在馬戲團里，受到虐待，傷痕累累（bear the scars of its abuse）。後來，在突發的混亂中，它趁機跑了出來。
當它出現於城市街道時，巨聲怒吼嚇退了一眾路人。唯有小雀斑飾演的男主角紐特手持魔杖正面相迎，似安撫也像在對峙。
羅琳解密道騶吾和紐特似乎有一種神秘的聯繫：
“The Zouwu is terrifying if you’re a normal human being and to Newt Scamander, like a big kitten.”

The mischievous Niffler is small and furry with a long, rounded snout. Nifflers are often kept by goblins to burrow deep into the earth for treasure. Though the Niffler is gentle and even affectionate, it can be destructive to belongings and should never be kept in a house.
